Day 1: Zanzibar – Tarangire National Park via Arusha

Begin your romantic adventure by flying from Zanzibar to Arusha, where your driver will pick you up and escort you to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, embark on a game drive through this stunning park, famous for its majestic baobab trees rising out of the acacia-dotted landscape, providing a perfect backdrop for the large herds of African elephants wandering among them.

Other wildlife you may encounter includes lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, black-backed jackals, Kirk’s dik-dik, dwarf and banded mongoose, impalas, Beisa oryx, steenboks, African hares, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and waterbucks. Bird enthusiasts will delight in sightings of the Maasai ostrich, white-headed vulture, African scops owl, and the endemic ashy starling.

Enjoy a hot lunch inside the park, then drive to Suricata Boma Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Flight to Zanzibar

Start your day with breakfast at Suricata Boma Lodge, then depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Descend into what was once the fiery heart of a massive volcano, now a peaceful sanctuary where wildlife thrives.

The crater is home to wildebeests, Coke’s hartebeests, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, and zebras, while lions and cheetahs patrol the landscape. Black rhinos roam here with relative freedom, largely undisturbed by predators. Birdlife is abundant and varies seasonally; during your visit, keep an eye out for grey-crowned cranes, lappet-faced vultures, black-bellied and kori bustards, Fischer’s lovebirds, and northern anteater chats.

Enjoy a hot lunch at a designated picnic site within the crater before driving back to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar, concluding your romantic Tanzanian adventure.
