Designed for travelers with limited time, this itinerary offers a short but action-packed Northern Circuit experience, combining breathtaking landscapes and exceptional wildlife encounters.

Over just four days and three nights, you’ll witness the Big Five, vast herds of elephants, and countless other animals across Tanzania’s most celebrated safari destinations. From Tarangire’s baobab-studded plains to the endless horizons of the Serengeti and the dramatic Ngorongoro Crater, this safari promises unforgettable adventure and scenery.

4-Day Tanzania Safari: Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at your accommodation in Arusha, you’ll meet your driver-guide for a short safari briefing before departing for Tarangire National Park.
The park is known for its majestic baobab trees, rolling savannahs, and large herds of elephants. It’s also home to rare species such as the greater kudu, fringed-eared oryx, and ashy starling.

Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. In the late afternoon, drive to Ngedere Budget Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Main Destination: Tarangire National Park
Best Time To Visit: July to November (when animals gather at the Tarangire River)

Day 2: Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife destination. The name “Serengeti” means endless plains, and the park lives up to its name with vast grasslands teeming with wildlife — including the Big Five and countless wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles.

Enjoy a full-day game drive before heading to Matawi Serengeti Camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the park.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

After an early morning game drive in Serengeti, depart toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend over 600 meters into the crater — often called Africa’s Eden — for a full-day game viewing experience.

The crater’s fertile floor sustains a rich variety of wildlife, including elephants, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, hippos, and predators like lions, hyenas, and leopards. You may even spot the rare black rhinoceros grazing near the crater floor.

Later, you’ll transfer to your campsite on the crater rim for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy one last scenic drive through the Ngorongoro highlands before returning to Arusha. The region’s landscapes are breathtaking, with views of Maasai villages and rolling volcanic hills.

In the afternoon, arrive back in Arusha for drop-off — marking the end of your unforgettable 4-day Tanzanian safari adventure.
