Serengeti National Park Safari Guide

The Serengeti is Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife destination, famous for open grasslands, big cats, huge herds and the annual movement of wildebeest and zebra. A well-planned safari can reveal both dramatic wildlife action and quiet, unforgettable landscapes.

What makes the Serengeti special

Different areas offer different experiences. Central Seronera is productive throughout the year, the western corridor is known for seasonal migration movement, and the northern Serengeti is important for the dry-season herds and Mara River region.

Wildlife to expect

Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos and large herbivore herds are regularly seen. Your guide’s knowledge of tracks, habitat and animal behaviour is as important as the season.

How many days do you need?

Three to four nights gives a good first safari, while five or more nights allows time to combine central, northern or western areas without rushing.
